Andrew Carnegie was a successful business man that earned his wealth off of the iron and steel industry. He gave away his fortune to "socially beneficial projects" and most famously by funding libraries.
He states that there is no harmonious relationship between the rich and the poor and that he wishes to once again create one.
He believes that the newly made rich are responsible for taking care of the poor citizens in their community. He advocated for philanthropy and wanted self-made men to take care of their "duty."
